The Work/Portfolio page is also a custom page, and is built using sub categories in order to give you the ability to hierarchically organize your type of work. Again, this is most easily shown by importing the dummy content and setting it up from there, but I’ll explain a bit more below.
As the demo shows, there is a main category called ‘Work’, with sub categories of Interface design, logo design, and web design. You can have more or less, and the ones listed in the demo are not required, just those I chose. Each of these sub categories have posts associated with them, which is obviously why they are displaying. You can create more sub categories and they will automatically break where they should – the most that can fit across is 4 before starting a new row, and each column allows for 5 links per category before creating a separate column.
If you haven’t already, you’ll need to create a Work page and assign it the Work page template. Once you have, create your Work category, and any sub categories of work you need, then you need to create a work post. Below is the information that should be filled out:
Then simply upload as many images as you’d like (just upload and attach, do not ‘insert’), and that’s it!
